Growing Sussex celebrates a major milestone as The Green House Sussex becomes the final site to go live with its advanced wireless network. The site is now equipped with digital infrastructure that allows tailored sensors to support various growing activities and enable more informed data-driven decision making.

With the 5G private network in place, the site an begin integrating IoT technologies to support delivery of real-time insights into crop conditions, energy consumption, and operational performance. The learning from this implementation will support the Sussex growing sector to understand how advanced wireless networks can assist in making decisions around efficiency, effectiveness, and economical opportunities.
With all four Growing Partner sites live, Growing Sussex is showcasing collaboration between commercial food producers, telecommunications suppliers, academia, and local authorities can provide potential for increased rural productivity. It also supports the aim to equip a digitally skilled workforce with the experience needed for real world practices.
Each site will continue to share knowledge, best practices, and insights into their learnings. Ongoing collaboration with the University of Brighton will help identify what data matters most to each site and the growing sector at large. These insights will inform the shaping of a scalable, repeatable model of commercial investment in digital connectivity to support growers in the region.
