Growing Sussex proposes the installation of a scalable private 5G infrastructure to help improve productivity and sustainability within food, drink, and plant production by utilising advanced technologies. The key to doing this is successful collaboration between growers, landowners, local authorities, and technology providers. By working together, we can create economic opportunities and promote sustainable practices. It can also address the issue of a digital divide within rural communities by creating shared use opportunities.
There are challenges, but the Growing Sussex approach focuses on clear communication, fair agreements, and shared benefits, ensuring minimal disruption and long-term value for all partners.
